After a lot of work we’re happy to announce the first public release of CASA Lib for ActionScript 3.0. CASA Lib AS3 has already been battle tested on numerous high profile AS3 sites and we think it’s ready for a public release.
CASA Lib for AS3 isn’t a direct port of the AS2 version. Adobe’s release of AS3 solved many of the problems that CASA Lib AS2 was trying to fix, but we still feel there is plenty of room for improvement.
Here are a few of our favorite things in CASA Lib AS3:
- Standardized external load API
- Easily remove listeners with IRemovableEventDispatcher
destroymethods make garbage collection easy- Large group of utility classes for common manipulations
We will be elaborating further the power of CASA Lib in future blog posts.
As with any new release there will be bugs that emerge, but with your help we promise to release updates often to keep CASA Lib as stable as possible.
